Operation Christmas Child (aka The Shoebox Appeal)

Since 1990, Operation Christmas Child has brought the joy of Christmas to more than 23 million boys and girls. Last year Samaritan?s Purse in the UK sent out over 1 million gifts to children across Eastern and Central Europe. This annual project enables caring individuals, families, schools, churches, businesses, and other organisations to fill ordinary shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, sweets, and other gifts for hurting children around the world. After a huge success last year Catherine Lambert is once again organising the collection of shoe boxes from Langstone Church and is requesting people to help in as many ways as possible, collecting rubber bands to go round the shoe boxes, donation of small toys and gifts, shoe boxes, money and time. For more information on how you can help speak to Catherine Lambert or see the Samaritan’s Purse website.
