Again this year Langstone Church was entered in the Places of Worship category of the Portsmouth in Bloom 2007 competition organised by the Parks and Recreation Dept of Portsmouth City Council and sponsored by Colas. The judges visited in July and were looking at design and layout use of colour foliage and form quality and health of plants weed control and care for the environment. We were delighted this year to be presented with the 3rd place shield at the Presentation of Awards evening, held at Admiral Lord Nelson School, on Monday 8 October. 2nd place went to the Anglican Cathedral with St Wilfred’s gaining the top award. We are grateful to Steve Stevens, Derek Wiseman and Roger and Heather Hayward for all their hard work in our grounds.
